Pay Scale: Pay Level 10B of Defence Pay Matrix (Basic Pay Rs. 61,300 + MSP Rs. 15,500 + allowances as applicable).
Eligibility Criteria of AFMS Recruitment
Educational Qualification:
- Candidates must have passed their final MBBS (Part I & II) examinations in not more than two attempts.
- Must have appeared in NEET-PG 2024 or 2025. (Civilian doctors with a PG degree are exempt from NEET-PG).
- Must have permanent registration from any State Medical Council/NMC/MCI.
- Must have completed a mandatory internship on or before 31st July 2025.
Age Limit (as on 31st Dec 2025):
- For MBBS Degree Holders: Must not have attained the age of 30 years (i.e., born on or after 02 Jan 1996).
- For PG Degree Holders: Must not have attained the age of 35 years (i.e., born on or after 02 Jan 1991).
Application Fee
An application fee of Rs. 200/- is applicable to all candidates.
Payment Mode: The fee can be paid online using Internet Banking, Credit Card, or Debit Card.
Selection Process of AFMS Recruitment
The selection of candidates will be done through a multi-stage process which is as follows:
- Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview based on their scores in the NEET-PG 2024 or 2025 examination.
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview by a Board of Officers in New Delhi. This stage assesses the candidate's suitability and merit for the grant of Short Service Commission.
- Medical Examination: Candidates who qualify in the interview will undergo a detailed medical examination to ensure they meet the physical and medical standards of the Armed Forces.
- Final Merit List: A final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the interview for medically fit candidates.
Syllabus for AFMS Recruitment
There is no separate written examination conducted by AFMS for this recruitment. The selection is based on NEET-PG scores and a final interview.
The interview will be conducted by a Board of Officers to assess the candidate’s overall suitability. While there is no fixed syllabus, the interview will likely cover the following areas:
