Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has released an official notification (Advt. No. 33/2025) inviting applications from eligible Indian citizens for the recruitment of Members in the Assam State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (ASCDRC) and various District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commissions (DCDRC) across Assam.

 

Eligible candidates can apply online from 18th December 2025 to 16th January 2026.

The recruitment is for Members in both the State Commission and various District Commissions.

Eligibility Criteria

 

1. Educational Qualification

• Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University.

2. Experience

• For State Commission (ASCDRC): Not less than 20 years (Check official notification for specific years, usually higher for State) of experience in Consumer Affairs, Law, Public Affairs, Administration, Economics, Commerce, Industry, Finance, Management, Engineering, Technology, Public Health, or Medicine.
• For District Commission (DCDRC): Not less than 10 years (Check official notification, usually 15-20 years for President, 10-15 for Members) of experience in the above-mentioned fields.
• Note: Detailed experience criteria should be verified from the official advertisement PDF.

3. Age Limit (as on 01/01/2026)

• Member (ASCDRC): Minimum 40 Years.
• Member (DCDRC): Minimum 35 Years.
• Maximum Age: Up to 65 years (subject to tenure rules).

 

Salary & Pay Scale

Selection Process

 

The selection of candidates will be made on the basis of:

1. Written Examination / Screening Test: (If number of applications is large).
2. Interview / Viva-Voce: Candidates shortlisted will be called for an interview.
3. Document Verification: Verification of age, education, and experience certificates.

The exact scheme of examination will be notified by APSC on their official website.

Syllabus

Candidates should prepare the following topics for the Screening Test/Interview:

1. General Knowledge: Current events of National and International importance, History of Assam & India, Geography, and General Science.
2. Constitution of India: Fundamental Rights, Directive Principles, Judiciary system, etc.
3. Consumer Related Laws:
• The Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
• The Legal Metrology Act, 2009.
• Rules and Regulations related to Consumer Forums.

2. Register yourself by clicking on "Register Here" (One Time Registration) if not registered.
3. Login with your credentials.
4. Select the "Apply" link for Advt. No. 33/2025.
5. Fill in the application form with personal, educational, and experience details.
6. Upload scanned copies of Photograph, Signature, and relevant documents.
7. Pay the application fee online.
8. Submit the form and print the acknowledgment receipt for future reference.

NOTE I: Date of birth mentioned in Online Recruitment Application is final. No subsequent request for change of date of birth will be considered or granted. No document other than the Class X/Class XII Board Examination Admit Card/Pass Certificate/Mark sheet, in which the date of birth is properly recorded, will be accepted by the Commission for determination of age.  

NOTE II: Candidates are warned that they should not furnish any particulars that are false or suppress any material information in filling up the application form. Candidates are also warned that they should in no case correct or alter or otherwise tamper with any entry in a document or its attested/certified copy submitted by them nor should they submit a tampered/fabricated document. If there is any inaccuracy or any discrepancy between two or more such documents or their attested/certified copies, an explanation regarding this discrepancy should be submitted.
