Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have released the
detailed Centralised Employment Notice (CEN No. 09/2025) for the
recruitment of 22,082 Posts in Level-1 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix
(formerly Group D) across various Indian Railway Zones. This is a massive
opportunity for 10th Pass and ITI candidates to join the Indian Railways
as Track Maintainers, Assistants, Pointsmen, etc.
Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through
the official RRB websites starting from January 31, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria |
Candidates must meet the following eligibility conditions as
of the closing date:
1. Educational Qualification
- 10th
Pass (Matriculation) from a recognized Board/NCVT/SCVT.
- OR
ITI from recognized institutions of NCVT/SCVT.
- OR
National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.
2. Age Limit (as on 01.01.2026)
- Minimum
Age: 18 Years.
- Maximum
Age: 33 Years.
- Age
Relaxation:
- SC/ST:
5 Years (up to 38 years).
- OBC
(NCL): 3 Years (up to 36 years).
- PwBD:
10 Years.

Candidates must pay the application fee online. The fee is
refundable (partially/fully) for candidates who appear in the CBT.

Selection Process |
The selection for RRB Level-1 posts involves the following
stages:
- Computer
Based Test (CBT): 100 Marks (90 Minutes).
- Syllabus:
General Science (25), Mathematics (25), Reasoning (30), General Awareness
(20).
- Negative
Marking: 1/3rd mark for every wrong answer.
- Physical
Efficiency Test (PET):
- Male:
Lift 35kg for 100m in 2 mins & Run 1000m in 4 mins 15 secs.
- Female:
Lift 20kg for 100m in 2 mins & Run 1000m in 5 mins 40 secs.
- Document
Verification (DV).
- Medical
Examination.

- Visit
Application Portal: Go to rrbapply.gov.in.
- Register:
Click on "Apply" > "Create an Account". Register
using your Mobile No. and Email ID.
- Login:
Log in with your credentials.
- Fill
Application: Select "CEN 09/2025 (Level-1)" and
choose your RRB.
- Enter
Details: Fill in personal details, educational qualifications, and
upload documents (Photo & Signature).
- Post
Preference: Select your priority for various posts within the chosen
Railway.
- Pay
Fee: Complete the fee payment online.
- Submit:
Submit the form and take a printout.

Q1: Can I apply to more than one RRB?
Ans: No, candidates can apply to only one RRB.
Multiple applications will be rejected.
Q2: What is the last date to apply?
Ans: The last date for online application is March
02, 2026.
Q3: Is ITI mandatory for Group D?
Ans: No, 10th Pass candidates are also
eligible for various posts in Level-1. However, some technical posts may prefer
ITI/NAC. (Check Post Parameters in Notification).
Q4: Is there negative marking in the exam?
Ans: Yes, 1/3rd mark will be deducted for each
wrong answer in the CBT.
