2. About the Company


The Directorate of Employment & Craftsmen Training, Assam, under the Skill, Employment & Entrepreneurship Department of the Government of Assam, is the nodal agency for implementing and managing Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across the state. Its primary objective is to provide skill-based training to youths, enhancing their employability in various industrial and technical trades. This recruitment drive aims to appoint qualified Junior Instructors to impart quality vocational training, thereby strengthening the state's technical education framework and contributing to the development of a skilled workforce for Assam and the nation.

5. Age Requirement


  • General Age Limit (for all posts): 18 to 40 years as of 01-01-2025. (Candidate must not be born before 31-12-1984 and not after 01-01-2007).


  • Age Relaxation:


// SC/ST(P)/ST(H): 5 years

// OBC/MOBC: 3 years

// Ex-Serviceman: 2 years

// PwD: 10 years (irrespective of caste)



6. Salary


For all 21 posts: The scale of pay is Rs. 14,000/- to 70,000/- in Pay Band-2 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 6,800/-, plus other allowances as admissible under the Rules of the Government of Assam.



7. Educational Qualifications (Post Wise)


The minimum educational qualification is identical for all 21 posts:
a. Passed HSLC (Class 10) or equivalent examination from a recognized Board/Institution.
b. Passed National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) or National Trade Certificate (NTC) in the appropriate trade (i.e., the trade for which the candidate is applying).



8. Experience Requirement


The experience requirement is identical for all 21 posts:
c. 1 year of Industrial/Teaching Experience is desirable.


9. Important Information


  • Citizenship: Must be a citizen of India.

  • Employment Exchange: Must have a valid Registration Number in an Employment Exchange in the State of Assam.

  • Age Proof: Only Matriculation/HSLC Admit Card or Certificate will be accepted as proof of date of birth.

  • Single Application: A candidate can submit only one application for one post.

  • Small Family Norms: Candidates must submit a Declaration in Form-‘A’ under the Assam Public Services (Application of Small Family Norms in Direct Recruitment) Rules, 2019.



10. Exam Processes


The selection process consists of two phases:

1 Phase-I: A written examination (MCQ type).

2 Phase-II: A Skill Test for shortlisted candidates.



11. Selection Process


1 Written Test (100 marks): Candidates will be shortlisted for the Skill Test in a ratio of 1:4 (candidates per vacancy) category-wise based on their marks in the written test.

2 Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must produce all original documents for verification before the Skill Test.

3 Skill Test (50 marks): Practical test in the concerned trade.

4 Final Merit List: Will be prepared post-wise and category-wise based on the total marks (out of 150) scored in the Written Test and Skill Test.



12. Syllabus Pattern of Exam


The Written Test will be of 100 marks with 100 questions, each carrying 1 mark. There will be no negative marking. The duration is 2 hours.
