Eligibility Criteria |
Before applying, candidates must ensure they meet the
following eligibility requirements as of 14th December 2025.

Educational Qualification
- Matriculation
(10th Pass) or equivalent from a recognized Board of Education.
- Domicile:
Possession of a domicile certificate of the State against which the
candidate has applied is mandatory.

IB MTS Exam Pattern 2025 |
The selection process consists of two tiers: an online
objective exam and a descriptive test.
Tier
1: Online Objective Exam
The Tier 1 exam consists of 100 questions divided into four
sections. There is a negative marking of 1/4 (0.25 marks) for each
incorrect answer.

2: Descriptive Test
Candidates shortlisted from Tier 1 (10 times the number of
vacancies) will appear for Tier 2. This stage is qualifying in nature,
meaning marks obtained here are not added to the final merit list, but passing
is mandatory.

How to Apply for IB MTS Recruitment
2025 (Step-by-Step) |
Candidates can follow the steps below to apply online once
the link is active on 22nd November 2025. Note that applications
are accepted only online via the official website.
- Visit
the Official Website: Go to the Ministry of Home Affairs website
at www.mha.gov.in or
the NCS portal at www.ncs.gov.in.
- Find
the Link: Look for the link titled "Online Applications for
the post of MTS(Gen) in IB".
- Registration: Click
on "New Registration." Enter your basic details like Name, Email
ID, and Mobile Number to generate a User ID and Password.
- Fill
Application Form: Log in with your new credentials. Fill in your
personal details, educational qualifications, and select the Subsidiary
Intelligence Bureau (SIB) of your domicile state.
- Upload
Documents: Upload scanned copies of your Photograph and Signature
in the prescribed format (JPG/JPEG).
- Pay
Application Fee: Proceed to the payment gateway. Pay the required
fee (₹650 or ₹550) using Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI, or
generate an SBI Challan.
- Submit
& Print: Preview your application carefully. Once submitted,
you cannot make changes. Click "Submit" and take a printout of
the final confirmation page for future reference.
