SLET 2026 Selection Process |
The selection for eligibility for Assistant Professor is
based on a strict two-step procedure defined by UGC guidelines.
Step
1: Minimum Qualifying Marks
To be considered for the merit list, candidates must
first secure the minimum aggregate marks in both papers taken together:
|
Category |
Minimum
Aggregate Marks Required |
|
General / EWS |
40% (Combined score of Paper I & II) |
|
SC / ST / OBC (NCL) / PWD |
35% (Combined score of Paper I & II) |
Step
2: The Top 6% Rule (Merit List)
- Achieving
the minimum qualifying marks does not guarantee SLET qualification.
- Among
those who clear the minimum marks (Step 1), a merit list is prepared
subject-wise and category-wise.
- Final
Rule: Only the Top 6% of the appearing candidates (who appear in both
papers) are declared "Qualified" for Assistant Professor
eligibility.
- The
slots are allocated according to the reservation policy of the state
(e.g., specific percentages for SC, ST, OBC, etc.).
|
Exam Stages |
There is NO Interview stage for SLET qualification. The
process is simple:
- Written
Exam (OMR Based): Candidates appear for Paper I and Paper II on 15th
March 2026.
- Answer
Key Release: The commission releases provisional answer keys for
candidates to challenge.
- Final
Result: Based on the final answer key and the "Top 6% Rule,"
the list of qualified roll numbers is published.
