Indian Army has released the official recruitment
notification for the 67th Short Service Commission (Tech) Men and 38th
Short Service Commission (Tech) Women Course scheduled to commence in October
2026 at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai. This recruitment also
includes vacancies for Widows of Defence Personnel for Tech and Non-Tech
entries.
Interested and eligible unmarried engineering graduates can
apply online through the official website joinindianarmy.nic.in starting
from January 7, 2026 (for Men) and January 6, 2026 (for Women).

Eligibility Criteria |
1. Nationality
- Must
be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal, or a person of Indian origin
migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently
settling in India.
2. Educational Qualification
- For
SSC (Tech) Men & Women: Candidates who have passed the requisite Engineering
Degree course or are in the final year of the Engineering
Degree course are eligible to apply.
- Note:
Final year students must produce the engineering degree certificate
within 12 weeks from the date of commencement of training (i.e., by
October 2026).
- For
Widows of Defence Personnel:
- SSCW
(Non-Tech): Graduation in any discipline.
- SSCW
(Tech): B.E. / B.Tech in any engineering stream.
3. Age Limit (as on 01.10.2026)
- SSC
(Tech) Men & Women: 20 to 27 Years (Born between 02 Oct
1999 and 01 Oct 2006, both dates inclusive).
- Widows
of Defence Personnel: Maximum 35 Years.

Selection Process |
The selection procedure generally involves the following
stages:
- Shortlisting
of Applications: Integrated HQ of MoD (Army) reserves the right to
shortlist applications based on the cutoff percentage of marks obtained in
the Engineering Degree.
- SSB
Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a 5-day SSB
Interview at Selection Centres (Allahabad, Bhopal, Bengaluru, or
Kapurthala).
- Medical
Examination: Candidates recommended by the SSB will undergo a medical
test.
- Merit
List: A merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the
SSB Interview.

Entry Login: Click on "Officer Entry Appln/Login" and then
click "Registration" (if not already registered).
- Apply
Online: After login, click on "Apply Online" under the
Dashboard.
- Select
Course: A page 'Officers Selection - Eligibility' will open. Click
'Apply' against Short Service Commission Technical Course.
- Fill
Details: Fill in the personal information, communication details, and
educational qualifications carefully.
- Submit:
Save & Continue and submit the form.
- Print
Summary: Take two copies of the application form (Roll No. generated)
for future reference.
