2025-26: Apply Online for 312 Isolated Category Posts |
The Ministry of Railways, Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) has released a detailed notification for the recruitment of 312 Vacancies under Isolated Categories across various Zonal Railways and Production Units. The posts include Chief Law Assistant, Junior Translator (Hindi), Public Prosecutor, and others.
Interested and eligible Indian Nationals can apply online through the
official RRB portal rrbapply.gov.in starting from December 30, 2025.

Candidates must meet the following criteria to apply:
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess the prescribed qualifications as of 29/01/2026. Those awaiting final results are not eligible to apply.
- Nationality: Must be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee (settled before 1962), or a person of Indian origin migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanent settlement.
- Medical Standards: Candidates must meet specific vision and general fitness standards (B1, C1, or C2) depending on the post.
Candidates must pay the application fee online. A portion of the fee is
refundable after appearing in the CBT.

The selection process for RRB Isolated Categories involves:
- Single Stage Computer Based Test (CBT): Objective type questions with 1/3rd negative marking.
- Translation
Test (TT): Applicable for posts like Junior Translator
(Hindi).
- Document Verification (DV): Based on merit in CBT.
- Medical Examination: Conducted by Railway Administration.
- Visit
Official Portal: Go to rrbapply.gov.in.
- Create
Account: Register using your Mobile Number and Email ID.
(Using Aadhaar is recommended for smoother processing).
- Fill
Application: Log in and fill in your personal, educational,
and other details.
- Upload
Documents: Upload scanned Photograph, Signature (running
hand), and other required certificates.
- Pay Fee: Pay the
examination fee online.
- Submit: Submit
the form and take a printout for future reference.
- Note:
You can apply to only ONE RRB.
- Signatures: Must be in running handwriting; no capital letters.
- Banned Items: Mobile phones, calculators, Bluetooth devices, and even pens are not allowed in the exam hall (pens will be provided).
- Travel Pass: Free Sleeper Class Railway Pass is available for SC/ST candidates if they upload their valid caste certificate during the application.
- Communication: RRBs will communicate only via the registered Mobile Number and Email ID.

Asked Questions (FAQs) |
Q1: Can I apply to more than one RRB?
Ans: No. Candidates can apply to only one
RRB. Applying to multiple RRBs will lead to rejection.
Q2: I am in my final year. Can I apply?
Ans: No. Candidates awaiting final
results as of 29/01/2026 are not eligible.
Q3: Is there negative marking in the exam?
Ans: Yes, there is a negative marking of
1/3rd mark for every wrong answer in the CBT.
Q4: Is the application fee refundable?
Ans: Yes, the fee is partially/fully
refundable (Rs. 400 for General, Rs. 250 for others) only if the candidate
attends the CBT.
