Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

Indian citizens and other categories as specified (subjects of Nepal/Bhutan, Tibetan refugees before 01 Jan 1962, and certain PIO migrants) are eligible, subject to a Government of India eligibility certificate where applicable.

Age (as on 01 Aug 2025)

21–30 years (born not earlier than 02 Aug 1995 and not later than 01 Aug 2004; both dates inclusive). Upper-age relaxations apply for SC/ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), PwBD, Ex-servicemen, and existing confirmed employees of PSGICs, as per rules.

Educational Qualifications

  • Generalists: Graduate/Post-graduate in any discipline with ≥60% marks (≥55% for SC/ST/PwBD).
  • Specialists: Stream-specific degrees (e.g., Engineering for Risk/Automobile, Law for Legal, CA/CMA or MBA Finance/M.Com for Accounts, MBBS/MD/MS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS for AO-Health with valid registration, B.E./B.Tech/MCA for IT, Statistics/Maths/Actuarial/Data Science for Business Analyst, ACS/FCS + degree for CS, and 4 actuarial papers incl. CM1 for Actuarial).

Qualification results must be declared on/before 01 Aug 2025; CGPA conversions must follow university norms.

Salary, Benefits & Service Conditions

Selected AOs receive a basic pay of ₹50,925 on the prescribed scale plus allowances; gross emoluments are ~₹90,000 per month at metropolitan centers. Benefits include NPS (PFRDA), gratuity, LTS, medical benefits, group personal accident insurance, and company/leased accommodation as per norms. Service conditions follow company rules; specialists may be required to continue in their specialization for a minimum period as per company discretion.

Probation & Bond: Probation is 1 year (extendable up to another year). A 4-year service bond applies, with liquidated damages in case of resignation before bond period. Passing the non-life Licentiate Examination (Insurance Institute of India) during probation is mandatory for confirmation.

Selection Process

  1. Phase-I (Prelims): Online objective test (English, Reasoning, Quant) for 100 marks; section-wise timing. Candidates must qualify in each section; ~15× vacancies (category-wise) will be shortlisted for Mains, subject to availability.
  2. Phase-II (Mains): Objective test for 200 marks (separate timing per section). For Generalists: Reasoning, English, General Awareness, Quant (50 Qs each). For Specialists: Reasoning, English, GA, Quant (40 Qs each) + Professional Knowledge (40 Qs). Descriptive English (Letter & Essay) of 30 marks follows immediately; qualifying in descriptive is mandatory but not counted for shortlisting.
  3. Phase-III (Interview): Shortlisted candidates will attend interviews at select centres. Final selection is based on Mains (objective) and Interview in a 75:25 ratio; tie-breaking rules apply (higher interview marks, then age seniority).

Negative marking: ¼ mark penalty for each wrong answer in both Prelims and Mains. Score normalization/equating applies across sessions.

  2. Fill details carefully using Save & Next; upload photograph, signature, left thumb impression, and handwritten declaration as per specifications.
  3. Verify all particulars via Preview, then complete registration, pay the fee online, and submit the application. Retain the e-receipt and application printout.

Call letters for Phase-I & Phase-II will be available on the website; bring valid photo ID (matching the application) and photocopy of the same to the exam/interview.

Exam Centres & Pre-Exam Training

The online examinations will be conducted at designated centres across India (separate tentative lists for Prelims and Mains). Documents for Interview

Shortlisted candidates must produce originals and self-attested copies of documents including interview call letter, online application printout, DOB proof, mark sheets/certificates (X/XII/Graduation/PG), category certificates (SC/ST/OBC-NCL with validity; EWS Income & Asset certificate), disability/UDID (if applicable), experience (if any), NOC (if employed), registration certificates for AO-Health, and eligibility certificate (for specific nationality categories). Non-submission will lead to disqualification from further process.
